A Taste of Shanghai

Unable to score a last minute reservation at Mr and Mrs. Bund , Coconut paradise was the second choice in  Shanghai.

The restaurant is split across different dining rooms and at the entrance there is a beautiful water garden. The interior is rustic and kept authentically Thai with dark wooden floors and red tablecloth. On a Thursday night the dimly lit restaurant is filled with a lively mix of expats, tourists and locals. The cuisine is straightforward and offers all classics such as the good old Panaeng Curry, spring rolls, chicken satay etc. We opt for a green vegetarian curry which is very good and is accompanied by a glass of Malbec.

While the restaurant’s beautiful terrace make this a great place for the warmer days of the year, Coconut Paradise is one of the better Thai Restaurants in Shanghai and can therefore be recommended.
